
Jazmine Jacobson was born in and lived from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother Pam has been a previous back-up singer with Philadelphia International Records. When she was 5 years young, her father got in the role of curator of Philadelphia's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family relocated to the historic landmark. The 2005 Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduated who is majoring in vocal performance. Sullivan began singing as a contralto with the kids' choir, and then shortly after, she was a part of the adult group. Sullivan was not exposed to secular music initially. "I started singing as a soloist in the church, and someone asked me to commit to a gospel record at age 11. but I wasn't prepared for that," she says. "Then when McDonald's held a contest for youngsters in the major cities I was invited to sing 'Accept Whatever God Allows' on It's Showtime in the Apollo and the audience loved it". Stevie Wonder sang her part during his 13th birthday celebration. Sullivan, at age 15 was signed for the first time to Jive Records. In Jive Records, she made the entire album but it was never released. Sullivan was eventually eliminated at the hands of the company. She had a good working relationship and Missy Elliott. Elliott produced many of her tracks which included "Backstabbers", which was written by Timbaland.
